Does response format impact demographic differences in Casper Test performance?

In 2021, we conducted an experiment to determine whether alternative test response formats could reduce demographic differences in Casper test performance. In an effort to design a more equitable assessment for admissions, we provided Casper test takers with the option to participate in our experiment by responding to two additional scenarios using a video response format. 2,000 test takers opted to participate and the result prompted us to make changes to our Casper test. All Casper test takers for the 2022-23 application cycle will now respond using both typed and video response formats.

Check out our infographic, which offers insight into our experiment and shows how video-based response formats can help reduce demographic differences in Casper test performance.
