Challenge

Before adopting MSPE Builder, the MSPE process at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine mainly relied on manual work.

Each year, one staff member spent roughly two months copying assessment data from One45 into individual MSPE letters. Accuracy was critical, which meant the process moved slowly and left little room for added value.

Student review added another layer of complexity. Reviews took place during scheduled 30-minute video calls, which were difficult to coordinate, especially for students completing away rotations in different locations and time zones. Students had limited time to review their letters, and staff spent significant effort tracking down schedules.

Beyond the MSPE, the school also faced challenges with:

The existing process placed a heavy burden on staff and delivered a suboptimal experience for students.

Solution

As an existing One45 user, the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine adopted MSPE Builder and expanded its use of Analytics to modernize assessment and reporting.

This empowered the school to improve its approach in several key ways:

As Dr. Renu Boatright noted, the change “turned a two-month process into a one-weekend process.”.

Adopting One45 and MSPE Builder was a game-changer. It not only streamlined our processes but also significantly improved the quality of our educational delivery.

Results

Weill Cornell Medicine is transforming the way it manages and analyzes student data across Since adopting One45, MSPE Builder, and Analytics, the school has:

Assessment and feedback play a central role in medical education. When processes are slow or inconsistent, students and faculty feel the impact. By modernizing its assessment ecosystem, the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine has built a connected, student-centered approach that supports learners from admissions through graduation. The result is a more efficient, more consistent, and more meaningful experience for everyone involved.
